Kohnstamm Communications is looking for a Consumer PR Account Director (AD) craving the opportunity to work closely with CPG brands in the naturals foods industry to fully utilize your PR experience and positively impact programs for both enterprise and established consumer brands.

Kohnstamm is a 28-year boutique agency known nationally for its deep experience especially in the natural food and beverage channel, for its outstanding strategic PR. Accomplishments in media relations, social media strategy, influencer marketing and experiential marketing a must.

The Account Director is responsible for effectively managing teams within Kohnstamm’s consumer division, while overseeing all consumer client plans and campaigns to exceed client expectations. The incumbent will ensure effective client campaigns and best-in-class resource management, requiring significant hands-on PR team supervisory experience.

The individual also plays a role as a member of the agency’s senior team, actively working to set the stage to meet key agency metrics for profitability, monthly revenue targets, low client and employee turnover, high productivity and ensuring the vibrancy of the firm’s bonus pool, annually shared with staff from accrued net income. In addition, the Account Director plays a key role in the agency’s professional development program and other key agency functions.

Most importantly, the Account Director operates as the ‘strategic counselor’ and trusted advisor, to the agency’s consumer clients, performing annual planning, budgeting and staff forecast activities, while ensuring overall consumer account profitability. He/she will also manage the monthly invoice process and agency results reports. Through the use of annual performance reviews and individual development plans, ongoing coaching and mentoring and leadership, the Account Director is most accountable for generating a high-performance workforce.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten years of progressively responsible public relations experience with solid agency experience, especially in consumer media relations and PR; a Bachelors Degree is required; MBA/Masters Degree in Communications, Journalism or marketing-related discipline preferred; PR expertise and industry knowledge of sustainability, CPG, branding, food and beverage and B2B experience is also highly desired.
